Homeland Season 4 Spoilers: Saul To Remain Vital To Carrie Despite Pakistan Relocation, House Of Cards Actor Joins Cast

As "Homeland" season 4 goes into production, spoilers regarding the characters have surfaced as Carrie relocates to Pakistan.

"Season four will find Carrie Mathison assigned to one of the most volatile and dangerous CIA stations in the Middle East where she is back on the front lines in the war on terror," revealed the "Homeland" Tumblr.

Because of this, spoilers confirm that several new cast members will join the series, including Corey Stoll ("House of Cards"), "Laila Robins ("Bored to Death"), and Suraj Sharma ("Life of Pi").

According to Digital Spy, Sharma will portray Aayan Ibrahim, a Pakistani medical student who encounters Carrie Mathison.

Stoll, meanwhile, will portray a station chief in Pakistan who's an up-and-coming member of the agency. According to E! Online, Stoll will mostly working with Claire Danes as well.

Spoilers confirm that "Homeland" season 4 will have Carrie trying to balance work, motherhood, and her bipolar disorder.

"The pendulum is always swinging," said Claire Danes to Variety, "and even if she's composed and kind of coherent, we have to anticipate the possibility of some rupture. Carrie's mental condition and her bipolar illness is always part of the story and she will be dealing with that again in season four."

But if fans are worried that "Homeland" season 4 will take Carrie away from Saul, the Christian Post confirms that actor Mandy Patinkin will stay on as a series regular.

"Although he's not at a desk at Langley anymore, the CIA does outsource a lot of jobs to private contractors," said showrunner Alex Gansa. "He's going to be in that circle, he's still in the intelligence-gathering profession and the CIA could use somebody of his immense skills and knowledge for various intelligence work. Saul figures into [Carrie's] narrative in a very, very important way."
