Nexus 10 2 Release Date Not Going To Happen? Google Ditching The Second-Gen Android Tablet For Nexus 8 And New Android Silver Program?

Nexus 10 2 release date might not happen anymore.

According to latest reports and speculations about Nexus 10 2 release date, the second-generation 10-inch tablet might not be launching anymore as Google is planning to replace it with the Nexus 8, which is going to be manufactured by HTC.

Reports also suggest that the internet search giant is going to launch a new program called Android Silver. Allegedly, this new line of devices will include more expensive gadgets to be able to keep up with the leading gadgets in the market such as the iPhone from Apple and the Samsung Galaxy S models from the South Korean manufacturer.

Reports claimed that the devices in the Android Silver will be more expensive than Nexus gadgets in order to keep up with its competitors like Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S line.

Aside from axing the Nexus 10 2 release date, unofficial reports are also saying that there will be no Nexus 6 anymore. Last month, a famous tipster, @evleaks shared via Twitter that Nexus 6 is not coming anymore. As cited on Christian Today, the tweet reads, "There is no Nexus 6. Farewell, Nexus."

On the other hand, a contradicting report suggested that Nexus 10 2 release date may still happen. However, fans should not expect it to be set soon. As posted on AirHerald.com, industry insiders are expecting that the Nexus 10 2 release date will be set for at some time during this year's winter season.

If Nexus 10 2 release date will still push through, some of the possible specs to find on the next-gen 10-inch Android tablet are 10.1-inch screen with high-res display and a pixel density of 330 PPI. The tablet might also feature an 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP for the front and it could be powered by 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor or the NVIDIA Tegra 4, 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU, according to a separate report on Christian Today.  16 GB and 32 GB models for Nexus 10 2 might be both available in the market.

Stay tune for more reports about Nexus 10 2 release date, as well as the launch of the Nexus 8 and the Android Silver line.
