NBA Finals Schedule 2014 News: Leonard's 29-Point Career High Performance Fuels Spurs In Lopsided Victory Over Heat, Takes 2-1 Lead

The NBA Finals schedule 2014 continues between budding rivals San Antonio and Miami.

After a tough Game 2 loss, the San Antonio Spurs bounced back with a vengeance as they buried the Miami Heat, 111-92 behind Kawhi Leonard's career-high 29 points.

With the series tied at 1-1 entering the Heat's homecourt, many fans thought the Spurs to be at a disadvantage.

Not so, as San Antonio breezed into a 21-point first half lead over Miami in Game 3 of the NBA Finals at the American Airlines Arena Tuesday night.

Leonard's slashing, inside game, and spot up threes became crucial for the Spurs as he opened up the perimeter for the team, particularly Danny Green who shot 7 out of 8 from the field.

However, it was not all offense for San Antonio as the Spurs also nabbed a team total of 12 steals compared to the Heat's 8. Miami also struggled to keep the ball in check with their 20 turnovers, strangely led by LeBron James with 7, his worst in an NBA Finals game.

To make things worse for the Heat, James was not his usual self in Game 3 as he contributed just 22 markers, though he still tried to involve his teammates with his 7 dimes.

San Antonio was red hot from the get go, shooting more than 75 percent from the field, resulting to a 71-50 advantage with Leonard leading the team with 18 points. Tim Duncan had a quiet night, finishing with 14 points and 6 boards, while Tony Parker and Green chipped in 15 points apiece.

Meanwhile, Dwyane Wade helped James with his own 22-point performance, but had 5 turnovers as well. Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen made 14 and 11 points respectively. Chris Bosh, after a good start in the first half was inevident in the second. In a BleacherReport post, he only had 12 touches of the ball throughout Game 3.

Game 4 will still be at the American Airlines Arena where Miami will certainly go for a tie before heading back to San Antonio.
