'Infamous: First Light' DLC Release Date Announced: Stand Alone Story In 'Infamous: Second Son" World, New Playable Characters And Trailer, Watch Here [VIDEO]

"Infamous Second Son" developer Sucker Punch has officially announced an August 26th release date in North America, and an August 27th release date in Europe, for its first major story DLC "Infamous: First Light."

The game will star Conduit Fetch, who appeared in "Infamous: Second Son" with some unique Neon special powers. According to Jason Connell, one of the creative leads at Sucker Punch, Fetch's story is "not an easy one to tell". He went on to say, "There is heartache, drug abuse and abandonment. Playing as Fetch, you'll experience the events that transform her into the conduit you met in Second Son. You will get to see her cope with life in Curdun Cay [the high alpine prison] after being captured by the DUP, and experience what happens when her brother Brent goes missing - and how far she will go to find him."

Having played Second Son is not required to enjoy the new game, but it will definitely help in understanding the story. "Infamous: Second Son" will allow gamers to unlock exclusive content in "Infamous: First Light."

The news was announced just yesterday over Sucker Punch's twitter "Infamous: Second Son" was a big draw for the Playstation 4, and a commercial success.

While the original title was a relatively open world set in Seattle there is a good chance that this will be a more enclosed game, reminiscent of "Arkham Asylum." More new details will be released in the coming weeks, but what we have seen from a short video hints that "Second Son" protagonist Delsin Rowe may make an appearance.

"inFamous: First Light" can be pre downloaded from the Playstation store and unlocked at the time of release. Playstation always intended for this to be a capability of the Playstation Store, but this will in fact be its first official use.

Suckerpunch has also released this new trailer for the DLC.
