A couple of weeks ago, we heard reports of one of the upcoming Blackberry phones in 2014, and from what we consider as a rather odd design. But indeed, the Blackberry Passport is a powerful device that will surely lure in its fair share of fans. 

Now, in a new report by GSM Arena, the new Blackberry phone has been spotted in the wild as showcased in live images. 

In the report, the poster of the images also confirmed some specs of the Blackberry phones. 

The Blackberry Passports packs a 4.5-inch display with a rather odd resolution of 1440 x 1440, which means the display is a square and not rectangle as with most smartphones nowadays. It certainly reminds us of Nokia's touch and type Ashas back in the day, which sported a QWERT keyboard. 

Speaking of the keyboard, the Passport's keyboard is a little cramped as confirmed by the report, and may not provide the best typing experience for people who prefer QWERTY rather than on-screen keypads. 

Still, the Blackberry Passport boasts some impressive specs inlcuding a 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Rumored specs also include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and a quad-core CPU. 

Unfortunately, the report mentioned that the device will have a 3,450mAh non-removable battery, which may not sit well among most smartphone enthusiasts. 

Also on board the device is a microSD and SIM card slots located at the top of the Passport. The device will allegedly pack a primary camera and front shooter though details for those features are not available yet. 

As the newest Blackberry 10 OS phone, the Passport carries a lot of pressure to sell well, and in spite its respectable specs and the QWERTY keyboard which a lot of loyal fans love, the huge rather odd dimensions might tick off some prospective buyers. 

In previous reports, the Blackberry Passport should be officially launched next month.
