Chris Colfer Twitter Hacked; "Glee" Star NOT Leaving Show, Says Manager

Chris Colfer's Twitter account was reportedly hacked, spreading rumors that the "Glee" star was leaving the hit program.

The hacker Tweeted, "Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of GLEE. Explanations will come shortly..." according to Entertainment Weekly.

News spread quickly of the star's alleged departure from the "Glee" series via Twitter.

20th Century Fox Television, producer of the program, released a statement denying the rumors. "We've been alerted that Chris Colfer's Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season."

Colfer's manager confirmed that he has already signed a contract for season six, which will also be the final season for the musical comedy program.

"Colfer's manager tells THR that the star's verified Twitter account has been hacked and that the actor will indeed be back for the final season of the Fox musical as he has a signed contract for season six."

"The actor's publicist tells THR that Colfer is on a mid-Atlantic flight without WiFi access and not immediately available to update his Twitter account."

It begs to question: Who could possibly have been the culprit in this scenario of Twitter hacking?

This rumor comes on the tails of a long line of recent bad publicity for the popular show. Including rumors of a fight between Lea Michele and Naya Rivera that allegedly lead to her firing.

The show has also seen its share of tragedy when star Cory Monteith died last year of an overdose.

The final season will take the cast to New York City. Though the show's premiere has been delayed it is likely to return midseason on Fox, and will be only 12 or 13 episodes instead of the usual 22.
