LG G3 Release Date Set On July 18 For Sprint Subscribers In The US

Even after the LG G3 release date in South Korea last month, other bigger markets particularly the US has been left hanging.

Fortunately, there is now an official release date for the Android smartphone, and it is bound for local carrier Sprint.

According to the report by GSM Arena, pre-orders for the LG flagship will kick off on July 11, while the arrival of the units would be several days later, July 18.

Sprint offers a very attractive payment scheme through its Sprint Easy Pay, which allows subscribers to get the handset at $0 upfront (but includes tax), and 24 monthly payments of only $25. That adds to a grand total of $600, which is probably how much the phone costs anyway without the contract.

Aside from that payment scheme, Sprint also offers the standard contract which may require you to pay $199 upfront and a minimal amount every month for the next two years.

So now that the LG G3 will finally hit the US, is it worth getting?

In case you missed the announcement of the LG G3 last May, it packs a 5.5-inch IPS display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution, the best in the business today. It also packs a Snapdragon 801 chipset, quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5Ghz. 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory with microSD card slot for memory expansion.

There is also a slightly lower-end model that gets 2GB of RAM and 16GB of buil-in storage.

Behind the device is the 13MP primary camera with optical image stabilization, the volume rockers and power button below the camera sensor, dual-LED flash at the right side, and a focus laser that reportedly reduces the focus duration of the device.

Like all Android flagships today, the phone runs on Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat, and packs a huge 3,000mAh battery.
