Carmelo Anthony News: Former Scoring Champion Could Return To Knicks Before Free Agency Ends

After three days, the latest Carmelo Anthony news tell us that the veteran small forward has finally finished his meetings with four teams outside of New York, all of which can bring him his dream of finally winning an NBA title.

In Chicago, head coach Tom Thibodeau, Derrick Rose and key Bulls players and team executives met with Anthony and reportedly presented a win-now scenario wherein Melo would play alongside the former MVP, and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Joakim Noah.

The team is a defensive-minded machine that is waiting for the last piece of the puzzle, and serve as the primary or secondary offensive option.

On Wednesday, Melo and his agent talked to the Houston Rockets where he would once again become a part of a trio of superstars including guard James Harden and center Dwight Howard. Houston was so engrossed in getting Carmelo that its management was a bit careless using Jeremy Lin's jersey number in the shopped image where Melo wears a Rockets uniform.

The Rockets are among the best offensive juggernauts in the league, averaging more than 110 points per game last season. Throwing in Melo into the mix would even solidify Houston's status as one of the elite teams in the West.

As for Dallas, the meeting with Melo only took more than two hours, where they presented a straight to the point offer of playing alongside prolific scorer Monta Ellis, veteran shooter Dirk Nowitzki and former New York teammate Tyson Chandler.

The Lakers have the most enticing offer of the bunch, with a 4-year contract worth $96 million.

However, some speculations say that after all is said in done, Carmelo may just end of returning to New York where his family enjoys living. It also helps with this decision that the Knicks decided offered him a max contract for 5 years worth $129 million.

Now that Phil Jackson is in control of the team's player roster, the Knicks could become a title contender as early as next season, in spite missing the Playoffs last year.
