Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Is This Our First Glimpse Of The Galaxy F's Metal Frame?

Even before the year began, there were already rumors about upcoming Samsung phones for 2014 that a premium Galaxy lineup will be coming, and it has been referred to as the Galaxy F line ever since.

However, half a year has already passed and still no sign when specifically this device would be launched. What is more intriguing is that a Samsung exec mentioned that there would be no premium Galaxy device from Samsung, but still rumors and leaks continue to flourish.

In case you are already doubting the existence of this mythical device, this could be one proof that it actually exists.

According to a report by GSM Arena, an anonyous tipster sends in an alleged image of the Galaxy F smartphone. As we can all see from the image, the frame would be made out of a type of metal, probably aluminum. Interestingly, the phone will have a removable plastic back cover.

This just means that the Samsung Galaxy F handset would not be full metal, as previous rumors claim. The back part is plastic, while the sides are metal or aluminum.

In the report, the Galaxy F has also been likened to recent iPhones with its curved sides and edges.

Late in June, the Galaxy S5 LTE-A has been announced in South Korea and it will solely be available to the tech giant's home market. Could it be that the Galaxy F is actually a Galaxy S5 LTE-A for the international market?

With just under four months since the Galaxy S5 was announced, and a little over three months before the Galaxy Note 4 expectedly makes its debut, this month would be the perfect time to squeeze this premium offering from the Korean manufacturer.

Based on rumors in the past, this Android handset allegedly packs a 5 to 5.5-inch display with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset, and an even better camera than the 16MP found in the Galaxy S5.
