Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Release Date: Mini Flagship Packs Decent Specs And Design, Gets Poor Pricing?

A lot of people anticipated the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini release date since the Galaxy S5 was launched. This group of people were the ones who want to get the latest device from the Korean manufacturer but cannot afford the high-end price range of the flagship.

After getting teased for a couple of months, the Galaxy S5 mini has finally been announced earlier this week. However, people were still keeping their fingers crossed as to how much the midranger would cost.

At the moment, Samsung has yet to announce the pricing details of the Galaxy S5. However, a report from PC Advisor tells us that Mobile Fun in the UK has already listed the device at £369 or about $633.

To put things into perspective, the bigger Galaxy S5 is currently priced at $649 after several price cuts, so clearly there is something wrong with the S5 mini's price tag.

However, this issue usually happens to devices whose prices are not announced by the manufacturer right away. Some retailers who offer the device right off the bat try to make more profit by placing higher costs.

In case you have been checking out the news, the Galaxy S5 mini is certainly a smaller flagship for the Korean manufacturer as it boasts most, if not all of its larger siblings features and functions. These include the fingerprint sensor, heart rate monitor, and even the Ultra Power Saving mode of the Galaxy S5 among others.

As far as specs go, the S5 mini packs a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, Snapdragon 400 chipset, and 1.5GB of RAM.

Also on board is an 8-megapixel primary camera at the back and a 2MP front cam, a rather small 2,100mAh battery and Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box.

The device will be available in Russia this month, while pre-orders have already begun in the UK.
