NBA Trade Rumors: Roy Hibbert Shopped By Indiana! Pacers Ready To Make Drastic Changes After Playoffs Flameout!

NBA Trade Rumors are creeping out along with the free agent derby. One team that may be a surprise to make changes are the Indiana Pacers. They had the best record in the Eastern Conference, but that was not the goal.

The goal was to win a title, or at the very least, take down the Miami Heat. They did not achieve that, and they just barely avoided an embarrassing first round exit at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks-who played without their injured star Al Horford!

Even the calm and collected Larry Bird would push the panic button under those circumstances. But he still has a Legend's way of doing things.

From Sporting News' Sean Deveney: "..according to multiple front-office sources, the Pacers have quietly sought out possible new landing spots for their enigmatic big man.

'I would say they've been doing that, but quietly.' one front-office source said.

'They're open to making major changes, if they're there,' one general manager told Sporting News. 'I think they'd be disappointed to see that same core group back intact, so it is a matter of, how drastic can the changes they make be? Moving Hibbert for multiple pieces would be a pretty drastic change, but they're asking.'"

The core of the Pacers was composed of Paul George, David West, George Hill and Hibbert. The Pacers have also been making an effort to improve at the point guard position. They struggled against Jeff Teague and John Wall, and even to the Miami Heat point guard combo of Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole.

Lance Stephenson is a free agent and the Pacers also have him on the agenda. His on-court antics and unpredictable behavior is very detached from Indiana's 'culture.' He used to be a top free agent prospect, but the Pacers can bring him back on a discount.

Hibbert's slump in the crucial stretches in the playoffs was heavily criticized on social media. He was really expected to dominate this season after a breakout last year.

As yet, there are no takers for the center and his hefty $ 30 million/2 year salary as teams trying to court free agents are still conserving their cap space.
