Garth Brooks Tour 2014: Garth Brooks leaked and then confirmed that he will be hitting the road in 2014. The country superstar has been teasing about rumors that his new album and post-Thanksgiving TV special might mean Garth might be hitting the concert stage as soon as his wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood, gives him permission.

Garth Brooks sat down with "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts to say "You know what, since it's you and since we've had a history forever, let's announce it. We're going on a world tour in 2014. I can't believe I just did that but you are a doll."

The announcement came on day after the 'Friends in Low Places' singer posted on his website, amid lightning bolts, "The wait is over...7/7."

It's been 13 years Garth Brooks retired to pull a John Lennon and take care of his children, but now that his youngest daughter graduated from high school, Brooks will be putting on his ten gallon hat and guitar.

Last month, Rolling Stone Country asked when the biggest-selling country star in music history would finally announce his comeback tour.

Brooks said he worried that he might have waited too long and the comeback might be a "wheelchair and walker tour kind of thing."

Brooks also said he had to get approval from his wife, Trisha Yearwood, and three daughters.

Before he hits the states, Garth Brooks will perform a five-night run in Ireland, July 25-29 at Dublin's Croke Park.

Last year Gath told GMA "We're going on a world tour in 2014. It sure feels good to get to throw your hat back in the ring.... All my babies are fine with it. Ms. Yearwood is fine with it. So now I get to do what I love to do, which is play music. I get to be with the person I want to be with, which is Ms. Yearwood. ... My children are off on their own so the guilt of not being there... I'm a phone call dad now," he added, joking, "'Hey Dad, I love you, can I borrow some money?'"
