Chris Bosh News Update: Veteran Slotman Offered $88M 4-Year Contract By Rockets, Is He Worth Such A Deal?

Among the most recent news update about NBA free agency this year, Chris Bosh may not be one of the most talked about. But that was just because it was initially known throughout the league that the 30-year-old star will re-sign with the Heat.

But in a very interesting free agency period this year, that assumption changed over the weekend.

According to reports by Bleacher Report and ESPN, Bosh was offered a four-year contract with Houston worth $88 million. Previously, the amount was said to be $96M, but more recent reports clarified the offer.

As a Texas native, the deal is certainly appealing, considering that it would allow Bosh to make more money in the upcoming seasons compared to other teams, especially the Heat.

Another factor that Bosh is currently considering is the possibility of James returning or re-signing with Miami. That is why as of now, no further details about Bosh's decision are final.

However, a report said that Bosh and James talked during the weekend regarding their plans, though as of now nothing is still clear.

While James, Bosh and Wade intends to be in Miami, only Wade is actually sure given that he has played his entire career with the Heat.

As for Bosh, playing in Houston will definitely give him another shot at the NBA title. The core of prolific scorer James Harden, premier center Dwight Howard, and talented wingman Chandler Parsons is certainly a great recipe to be a title contender. And given that all three are not more than 28 years, there is definitely future in this young squad.

As potentially the oldest person in the starting five for the Rockets, Bosh could be the go-to guy in some situations, given his several stints in the Playoffs and the NBA Finals in the last four years.
