Miami Heat Rumors: LeBron James Gone? Pat Riley Prepares For Life Without The King! What Should They Do?

What was unthinkable a month ago is a hard reality that is rocking the NBA. The Miami Heat are coming to terms with the possibility that LeBron James could go.

The Heat signed two players, allegedly with LeBron James in mind. But Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts is nowhere close to the supporting cast that could take them over the hump. Sure, they are hard workers, but if they sign the Big Three, there won't be room in the cap to take other players.

LeBron will meet Pat Riley and if that is a farewell meeting, where do the Heat go from here? ESPN's panel of experts have different suggestions:

"Israel Gutierrez, ESPN: Plan B would probably still begin with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh re-signing. Then the Heat would have to sell free agents like Luol Deng and Pau Gasol on the idea that, first, they now have serious money to spend, and second, they could still win at a high level without LeBron. It wouldn't be easy, but Miami would move quickly to attempt to recover."

Miami will finally need to get their money's worth from Dwyane and Chris Bosh, assuming he returns. This is a challenge in itself considering that Houston is going on full pursuit. Also, Chris Bosh has mentioned he wants to stay to keep the Big Three intact. There's no 'Big' without LeBron in the equation.

"Amin Elhassan, ESPN Insider: Persuade Bosh to stay with a substantial deal, then aggressively pursue young, talented free agents like Eric Bledsoe, Greg Monroe et al. Try to remain flexible enough to make another free-agency run next summer."

While the other advice has them seeking veterans and competing now, this advice has them rebuilding into the future. If Riley can pull off a 'rabbit out of the hat' Big Three coup in 2010, he can do so again. 2015 also has a rich class of free agents that includes Kevin Love (if he's not traded) Rajon Rondo, Marc Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge among others.
