Nokia 930 Release Date Still Unknown In The US, WP 8.1 Device To Hit Europe, Asia And Middle East This Week, Costs $600

Nokia announced its latest flagship device in April, but until now no apparent Nokia 930 release date is set for the US market.

But if you are living in Europe, Asia or the Middle East, you would soon get a hold of the Lumia 930 this week. While the pricing is pretty steep at $600 without taxes, you would get the best hardware the Fins have to offer, paired with the best version of Windows Phone 8.1.

Interestingly, the device will be available in other markets 'in the coming weeks', though we cannot guarantee that will only last a week or two. For all we know, the device would not be officially available from any carrier in the US.

Fortunately, Verizon offers the Lumia 930, but it is disguised as the Lumia 929 or Icon.

Apart from the name and brading, the Nokia Icon is very much the same as the Lumia 930.

In case you want a refresher, the Nokia Lumia 930 packs a 5-inch AMOLED display with Nokia's ClearBlack technology. The screen has Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution which has been a staple for flagship devices for some time now.

Also on board is a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, a Snapdragon 800 chipset and 2GB of RAM. The chipset may be a bit outdated, but hey, it is still Qualcomm's second to the latest version.

One of the Lumia 930's selling points is its 20MP CarlZeiss sensor which is undeniably rivals that of the Sony Xperia Z2's in terms of quality. Windows Phone 8.1 brings some new features and tools which would make shooting with the Nokia Lumia 930 a unique experience.

Unfortunately, the device only offers 32GB of internal memory with no microSD card slot. If you love purchasing music and movies online, then this may not be the device for you - unless you bring your laptop with you.
