2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Carmelo Anthony To Miami? Is Melo Waiting For Chris Bosh To Leave For Houston? Expected Monday Decision Delayed!

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions are starting to get wildly creative. Every angle is being explored as long as the stars hold out. Carmelo Anthony's decision was expected Monday, but the day passed without any word from his camp.

Despite the lack of noise from Carmelo's camp, you're not going to hear any crickets as they will be drowned out by keyboards tapping away. The news about Carmelo came to a halt, the speculation did not.

There's a new angle being explored, not just by the media but front office representatives are thinking deeply about the implications of recent events, namely, the Rockets offer to Chris Bosh and the signing of Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger by the Miami Heat.

It has led to genuine moments of unease for all camps.

That eventually led to this question:

That sounds intriguing since most people interpret the signing of McRoberts (or McBob as sportswriters love to call him) as a replacement or Plan B in case Bosh leaves. However, there are two points that need to be noted. First, the context of the Granger/McBob signings is that they were under the premise that LeBron James would be their teammate.

Granger, while on the decline, agreed to a salary that’s way below market value using the bi-annual exception. McBob chose Miami over the default Charlotte Hornets (formerly Bobcats) despite having similar offers. The tipping point was LeBron James. He could either play with Al Jefferson or the King. Not an easy choice, but clear enough.

Did they know something that we do not? Probably. Riley’s credibility would be lost if he made that promise and LeBron ends up somewhere else!
But the second point complicates matters. If LeBron James does return, then it was established that Bosh would do the same.

The idea that Melo would be holding out for Bosh to go to Houston is difficult to establish. Besides, Bosh will not decide until LeBron decides. And we know what Bosh’s decision will be.
