Anger Management TV Series Cancelled As The Charlie Sheen Sitcom Will Not Have A Season 3! What Are The Reasons?

Anger Management, popular American television sitcom starring Charlie Sheen has been canceled. The episode will serve as the series finale on FX.

The show has been cancelled by bosses at U.S. network FX. As a reult of slipping ratings, executives have chosen not to move forward with a third season of the show which features Sheen in a role similar to that of Jack Nicholson from the 2003 film.  Charlie Sheen said in a statement:

"I am beyond proud of what we accomplished over the course of 100 episodes of Anger Management.

"We created something uniquely special with some of the most talented individuals I have ever had the privilege to work with. My sincere thanks to all for their unwavering love and support. Here's to the next chapter."

The news was first reported by RadarOnline.

As many would recall, Sheen's new show with DX soon after his exit from Two and a Half Men. The "Hot Shots!" actor was given a new vehicle in Anger Management by FX and Lionsgate. It was announced that FX had picked up the series with an initial ten episode order which, if successful, FX would then order an additional 90 episodes under a syndication model crafted by Debmar-Mercury.

The show started off with great ratings with 5.5 million viewers for the premier and FX announced that the show would be picked up for a further 90 episodes on August 29, 2012. Unfortunately though, the show's rating drastically dropped after initial curiosity waned, it seemed. However, hitting the 100-episode mark ensures that show becomes available for syndication, should a network want it.

Shawnee Smith and Selma Blair were cast as the two female leads in January 2012. According to a report by TMZ, on June 17, 2013, Sheen had told producers that he would refuse to work should Blair turn up to work that day as a result of her being the most vocal among the cast and crew regarding complaints about him being a menace to work with - especially his punctuality and work ethics. TMZ even reported that Sheen was ready to quit if the producers didn't fire Blair.

However, Sheen's rep denied those allegations.
