Girl’s Day Jihae to Leave Group

Jihae will be leaving Girl's Day to focus on her studies as a dancer.

Girl's Day will soon become a 4-member girl group with Jihae leaving the group.

The agency stated, "Due Jihae's personal choices, Jihae will leave the group prior to Girl's Day's future promotions starting  with the release of their next album on October 26th. From this point on, Sojin, Yura, Minah, and Hyeri will promote as a four-member group."

Girl's Day is under the agency Dream Tea and debuted back in 2010 with their song "Tilt My Head". Sojin, Minah and Jihae remained in the group as original members as Jin Sun and Ji In left the group for personal reasons. Soon after, Hyeri and Yura joined the line up going on to produce many hits with Girl's Day, such as "Nothing Lasts Forever", "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Oh! My God".

The company continued on to say, "The reason for Jihae's withdrawal has been talked over for a long period of time. One of the reasons for her leaving the group is because she wants to focus on her education. In the future, Jihae and the agency will be discuss various options for Jihae's future".

Jihae has been with Girl's Day from 2010. Girl's Day's most recent song "Oh! My God" was released back in April on their 2nd mini-album Everyday 2.

Dream Tea Entertainment concluded with, "We apologize to the fans of Girl's Day for the news. Jihae no longer be an active member of Girl's Day... Please support Jihae in her activities".

Jihae is currently a student at Sungkyunkwan Univsersity majoring in the field of dance.

As stated by Dream Tea Entertainment, Girl's Day will be releasing a new album on October 26th of this year with their next title song, "Don't Forget Me".
