Did Amir Khan just have a change of heart and realized that he is not the bigger draw between him and Manny Pacquiao?
Last October, Amir Khan said that he is no longer interested in facing Pac-Man in a fight who is said to be stalling and waiting for a confirmation from Floyd Mayweather Jr. to grant him a rematch. This alleged turn of events forced Khan to withdraw his name from the pool while also throwing some shade against Pacquiao's camp.
"I'm really disappointed in Manny and his team," Khan said at the time. "They aren't playing ball. All that was left to do is to sign the contract. But they are stalling."
But recent reports indicate that Khan is now open again into fighting Pacquiao, but he is not having any of the negotiation part and lets his team handle the situation fully,
"They (Pacquiao's team) are speaking to my team. I have just left it to my team," Khan said via Boxing Scene.
"I fight anybody who is brought in front of me," he added. "If it's Manny Pacquiao, it's Manny Pacquiao. If not, then somebody else."
"But we are still waiting for a response on what's going to happen," Khan concluded.
Those words by Khan didn't sound quite nice to MMA fighter BJ Flores who said that Khan is acting like he is the bigger draw of the match-up.
"I think the main thing is that Amir is a very good fighter but he's gotta remember he's against Floyd and against Manny," Flores told On The Ropes with Robert Brown.
"He's the B side, so it doesn't always happen on his terms. When they're ready to decide when it is, then he's gotta sit back and play cool and not make it like he's the one controlling everything because he's not."
Pacquiao have plenty of suitors who are eager to fight him next year and that includes Lucas Matthyse and undefeated American boxer Terrence Crawford.
