'Fantastic Four' Review: Toby Kebbell Weighs In On The Film's Failure

"Fantastic Four" actor Toby Kebbell discusses what he learned about the movie's failure.

While promoting his upcoming "Warcraft" movie at this year's Blizzcon, the actor talks about what he learned from "Fantastic Four" and the negative criticism it received.

"The fans want what they want to see. And if they don't get satisfaction, they let you know. And I appreciate that as a performer," Kebbell told IGN regarding the film's failure. "My job is to come in and perform as best I can and hopefully be directed in that path. And I felt like I was. I felt like the film was going to go well. It didn't turn out that the fans felt that way. So, the reaction is honest and I can only appreciate honesty."

"I don't know if I learned anything from Doom apart from perhaps from when I see something I don't agree with I'll voice that immediately, I think it's important," he added. "As an actor you're very conscious your career is at stake with each job, especially on these larger productions. A film like that comes out and I'm sent four scripts in a week and those scripts go to zero when it doesn't come out successful. So it actively effects my career.

"I think it's vitally important that if there's a problem on set, that it's voiced and we solve it there and I think that collaboration is very important. Not to say that didn't happen on set, but the collaboration is vital and if we don't do that, then we suffer."

"Fantastic Four" is known to have suffered a very toubled production with a lot of blaming and finger-pointing between director Josh Trank and 20th Century Fox.

Since it released in theaters, the film has suffered negative reviews and failed to rake in numbers at the box office. To date, it is the worst-reviewed Marvel-based film and has been given a 9% rating by Rotten Tomatoes.

"Fantastic Four" features Miles Teller (Whiplash) as Reed Richards, Kate Mara (Homeland) as Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) as Johnny Storm, Jamie Bell (Snowpiercer) as Ben Grimm, Tobey Kebbell (Rock N' Rolla) as Doom, and Reg E. Cathey (My Last Day Without You) as Dr. Franklin Storm.
