'Rogue Nation' Actress Rebecca Ferguson Reportedly Reprising Role In 'Mission: Impossible 6'

"Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation" actress Rebecca Ferguson will reportedly return in "Mission: Impossible 6."

"Rogue Nation," the fifth installment to the long-running spy series was a massive worldwide box office hit, raking in almost $682 in global earnings. Showing no signs of slowing down, "Rogue Nation" director Christopher McQuarrie has already signed on to do another sequel.

According to Screen Rant, production on "Mission: Impossible 6" is expected to begin sometime in 2016, with Tom Cruise on board as executive producer, while he also returns to his role as IMF covert agent Ethan Hunt. While the rest of Cruise's co-stars Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg are all likely to come back, "Rogue Nation's" female lead is also expected to return in "Mission: Impossible 6."

Showbiz411 claims that Rebecca Ferguson will appear in "Mission: Impossible 6," reprising her role as Ilsa Faust - a secret agent who went undercover as a mole inside The Syndicate for the British Secret Intelligence Service in this year's film. Ferguson's breakout performance has led to many Hollywood offerings - reportedly including the lead role in Marvel's tentpole movie "Captain Marvel."

If true, Rebecca Ferguson's addition to "Mission: Impossible 6" would become the first time in the franchise's history that the same MI team returned for multiple installments. Furthermore, McQuarrie's return as director is also a first in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise. Additionally, Ferguson would be the second female lead to reprise her role for another installment. Michelle Monaghan, who played Hunt's wife in the third film, appeared in 2011's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," albeit a brief cameo.

Producers have yet to announce a release date for "Mission: Impossible 6." Meanwhile, "Rogue Nation" is scheduled to release on home video next week.

"Rogue Nation" stars Tom Cruise (Edge of Tomorrow) as Ethan Hunt, Jeremy Renner (Avengers: Age of Ultron) as William Brandt, Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg (Star Trek: Into Darkness) as Benji Dunn, Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) as Alan Hunley and Sean Harris (Prometheus) as Solomon Lane.
