‘Street Fighter 5’ Release Date Confirmed For February 2016! New Beta Available On PS Plus

After receiving reports of numerous failed betas in the past, Capcom confirms that "Street Fighter 5" still has its release date set for February 2016, as the studio continues to deliver more surprises for their fans.

In a recent report by Event Hubs, Capcom revealed that they would be releasing a new beta for the game, but would only be available on the PS Plus, limited to its subscribers in Japan.

According to the report, the said beta would be live on Dec. 18 through Dec. 20 and would be available for a limited audience.

Furthermore, Shoryuken also revealed how different the beta testing for "Street Fighter 5" would be as compared to the previous betas, as the game nears its release date.

"The only thing Japanese players will need to play Street Fighter V during the next beta phase is an active PlayStation Plus subscription," the website stated. "Before, entries were chosen by lottery, making it much harder to get in when compared to the simple pre-order methods of other regions. Everyone who took part in the previous betas will also receive four invitations to send to PlayStation Network friends."

Meanwhile, a recent report from Game Spot revealed how the previous "Street Fighter 5" betas failed Capcom, as they continue to fix bugs.

"Unfortunately, several new issues arose last night in regards to our matchmaking system and the rate at which matches were made," Capcom revealed in a statement. "We are not confident that the matchmaking rate will improve significantly throughout the course of this beta period. That said, user experiences will vary."

Following that report, Capcom further stated that the game would be "limited" and to "not operate exactly as we intended."

"Street Fighter 5" has its release date set on Feb. 16, 2016 and would be available for gamers using a PlayStation 4 and PC.
