"I think it's going to be a huge holiday season. We're extremely optimistic," Cook said. "We shipped the Watch first in the June quarter and we sold a lot. We sold even more than that in the September quarter. And we're looking for a big holiday season."

With the success of the first generation of watches on a high, a report from DigiTimes revealed how Apple reportedly has been placing orders to Quanta - the company that manufactures the smart watches.

"Quanta, the maker of the Apple Watch, is expected to see related orders surging in 2016 and the ODM reportedly has also received orders for Apple's second-generation Apple Watch for the second quarter of 2016," the site reported, as pointing out a possible release date for Apple Watch 2.
