'Half Life 3' Release Date Rumors: "Half Life 3" will finally be released next week after nine years. The first-person shooter video game, "Half-Life 2" was released on Nov. 16, 2004. Valve's Steam had just been updated and it saw Half Life 3 being listed on the platform's list of upcoming games that are pending to get released.
A new fan-made Half-Life game Prospekt, made by 25-year-old indie developer Richard Seabrook is due to be released on Steam in February.Seabrook decided to quit his job and make the game as a job application two years agio.
The new Half-life fan-made game was made using graphics and assets from the Half-life 2 game.
Seabrook said he left his old role and begun this as a way to apply for a job at Valve.
"Half Life 3" is expected to bring a much-improved game to all avid gamers.
"I'm hugely grateful for the immense support from the 'Half-Life 2' and PC gaming community," said independent developer Richard Seabrook.
"I can't wait to hear what they think of the finished game and work the feedback into my next project, no doubt developed while we all wait for 'Half-Life 3!'
Seabrook developed "Prospekt" because he has been anticipating "Half-Life 3" and he is hoping to work with Valve. Seabrook hopes his prototype will pave the way for him.
Rumors suggest that Valve might be planning for a next-level "Half-Life" experience for players, and that it might even make "Half-Life 3" a VR-supported title. The Half-Life 3 game developer has not made any comments yet.
Details surrounding the much-awaited Half-Life 3 are kept under wraps.
"Prospekt is generally built using the same Source engine utilized for 'Half-Life 2' and is even regarded by its creator, Richard Seabrook, as a direct continuation of 'Half-Life: Opposing Force.'
Valve let a fan-made "Half-Life" series-inspired game, "Prospekt," go live on Steam.
Marc Laidlaw announced he is resigned from Valve and it looks like he has retired from game-making, according to Reddit. Laidlaw was a developer and writer at Valve since 1997. He was the sole writer for both Half-Life 1 and 2.
"An outwardly obvious reason is that I'm old, or anyway oldish," Laidlaw recently admitted.
"My nickname when I first started at Valve in 1997 was 'old man Laidlaw'. The little baby level designer who gave me that that nickname is now older than I was then," the "Half-life" co-creator said. "I had a good run but lately I have been feeling a need for a break from the collaborative chaos of game production, and a return to more self-directed writing projects."
