MBC has prepared the drama starring Lee and Nam that portray the life of a weighlifting athlete. The drama was loosely based on the real life female Korean four time world champion weightlifter Jang Mi-Ran. Prior to the airing, MBC released trailer of the drama on public showing the confidence of Lee as a weightlifter.
In order to prepare for the drama, Lee trained with national athletes in the Korean National Sport University facility. One of the co-stars, Yoo Joon-Hong, also published a series of his pictures outside the training gym, as reported by ET News. Yoo will play as one of the male weighlifters in the drama “Weighlifting Fairy Kim Book-Joo.”
The lead actor in the drama is the 22-year old actor Nam, who featured as well in “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” as the 13th prince Baek-Ah. Nam will play a national swimmer Jung Joon-Hyung according to Han Gook Ilbo. “I had to train hard for swimming and conducted a lot of research about psychological aspect of athletes who suffered an injury,” Nam said. “I will do my best and work hard to make a good acting in the drama.”
In the drama, Joon-Hyung received support from weightlifter Bok-Ju. There is also a hint that they both will be involved in a relationship.
