MIB Is The First Idol Group To Be Disbanded in 2017

The agency of hip hop idol group MIB, Jungle Entertainment announced the official disbandment of the group, citing difference between members’ musical style. The agency said that it is better for the membees to work as individual rather than a group.

According to report from Asia Today, Jungle Entertainment announced the official statement to disband the MIB on Jan. 4. The agency made the decision after they did not extend the contract of the three members whose contract ended last October, Young Cream, 5Zic, and Sims due to musical differences.

“We decided to not renew the contract because of differences in musical style. We decided it would be better for them to work on their own,” the agency said in the statement.

MIB was a four-member group, consist of four hip-hop musicians who uses their unique state names, 5Zic, Young Cream, SIMS and KangNam. Among the four of them, KangNam is the only remaining member who still under contract with Jungle Entertainment. His contract will expire in March, but there is no official statement regarding the contract renewal from either the agency or KangNam.

Recently, Kang Nam took part in the SBS documentary “Law of the Jungle” from the shooting location in East Timor. The documentary was aired in nine episodes every Friday from Nov.4 to Dec.30. According to Munhwa News, the documentary hits 12.9 percent ratings.

KangNam is the most senior member in the MIB and he is de facto their leader. MIB debuted in 2011 with their album “Most Incredible Busters” which peaked at the 20th position in the Gaon album chart.
