Its bound to be a trip to rap heaven when East meets the West as rapper Wale teased a potential collaboration with the Bangtan Boys. The "Ride Out" rapper confirmed that he met with the BTS leader Rap Monster and an exciting project is possibly in the works.
According to a report by Digital Music News, Wale announced that he met with BTS leader Rap Monster and a collaboration with the boys is highly possible. The rapper, who is currently set to start with his "The Shine" tour has been teasing since year the potential to create music with BTS.
Collaboration rumors sparked when Rap Monster did a cover of Wale's song "Illest Bitch" last year and a fan tagged Wale in the clip. The rapper gamely replied "Collab?" and followed the official BTS pages on Twitter, All Kpop reported.
In a freestyle performance, Wale also dropped the name of the BTS, furthering fueling the hopes of fans of yet another US/Korean collaboration track. "Foreign features from South Korea / BTS be the s..., we about to see it / I am not North or South / I am just DMV," Wale rhymed in his freestyle.
Wale has also been actively addressing fan questions on social media where he finally bared that he will be meeting with BTS face to face. He wasn't remiss in updating the fans of the much-awaited meeting when he posted a snap on his Instagram of him and Rap Monster hanging out at a dressing room or backstage where the two rappers chatted and potentially jammed together.
Wale also thanked BTS fans, more popularly known as ARMY for their warm welcome of the fandom. There will be no shortage of opportunities to work on a collaboration should it be confirmed by BTS' label Big Hit Entertainment and Wale's management team. BTS will be in the US from March 23 to April 2 for the Newark and Anahaim legs of their The Wings Tour; BTS Live Trilogy Episode III."
