SM Entertainment will be holding a K-Pop contest in the Philippines. This will be in part of the 2017 Korea-Philippines Trade Fair happening in the country on April.
According to Koreaboo, the 3-day trade fair will be on April 6-8. It will take place at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, Metro Manila.
During the first day of the trade fair, SM Entertainment will be holding a K-pop contest together with EN Production. SM Entertainment will also have a special surprise guest performance.
So far, SM Entertainment has confirmed the guesting of the Filipino Pop boy band Fab4z and Pathway. More artists are expected to join SM Entertainments event as the trade fair draws near.
Koreaboo also reports that the event will start off with an opening performance of the guests. SM Entertainment will then proceed with the K-pop contest that is to have 8 to 10 teams as participants.
After the contest, SM Entertainment will then announce the winners and special guest performances and an awarding ceremony will then follow. The K-pop contest will be on April 6, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The 2017 Korea-Philippines Trade Fair is hosted Global Insight and serves as Korea and Philippines' promotion for their products such as food, beverages, cosmetics, and electronics. Global Insight is a professional consulting group specializing in the advancement of domestic products overseas.
In other news, SM Entertainment recently made changes to their trainee contracts after being investigated by Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC). According to Soompi, KFTC question the agency's Article 6.3.
SM Entertainment's Article 6.3 states that a signee of the agency must not do anything that will hurt the artist's dignity and the company's credibility and other artists' as well. KFTC scrutinized a sub-clause of the article that stated "canceling contracts for ambiguous reasons".
Since the KFTC have planned to revise the contract, SM Entertainment has decided to remove the sub-clause entirely. The decision was passed on March 7.
