BTS Jimin Reveals the Negative Effects of Making a Lot of Money at a Young Age

During a recent interview with Weverse Magazine, BTS's main dancer and lead vocalist Jimin reveals the dark side of earning so much money at such a young age.

During the interview, he revealed that because he was still young and making a lot of money at his age, he starts wondering what money and success actually mean. Also, due to his age, he hears a lot of people talk, and some people end up being jealous or envious of him.

He hates this and says that there are lots of people he has to repay and a lot of relationships he needs to hang onto.

Jimin reveals that in the past, he thought he could take care of all of these problems. However, as he looks backs, he realizes that was not the case. "It has not been that long since I realized that I was the one to grab on and forced everything to happen," he revealed.

It is no secret that BTS is making big bucks nowadays. In 2019, the group ranked 43rd in Forbes' annual list of the 100 highest-paid celebrities, earning $57 million that year. In 2020, they ranked at number 47 and were reported to have made $50 million, and they could have made more had COVID-19 not put a stop to the boy's planned summer stadium tour across the United States that year.

On July 19, 2021, BTS ranked at number four on Billboard's top five highest-paid musicians in the world. According to the publication, BTS had a total income of $31.5 million, with streaming royalty earning them around $14.6 million. BTS was also reported to have a global stream count of 17.3 billion, with 9.8 billion coming from video streams and 7.4 billion coming from audio streams.

On July 9, BTS released their all-English single, "Permission to Dance." On July 19, the song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it BTS's fifth consecutive number one hit in the United States in ten months and two weeks. This is the fastest an artist had accumulated five number-one singles in the country since Michael Jackson more than three decades ago.

On June 16, 2021, BTS released their third Japanese-language compilation album, "BTS, the Best." The album sold 572,000 copies within the first week, breaking SixTones' record of 467,000 copies sold. "BTS, the Best" became Japan's greatest-selling record in a week.
