TWICE member Jeongyeon's latest appearance has drawn worry from ONCEs. Keep on reading to learn why.
TWICE Jeongyeon Latest Appearance Causes ONCEs to Worry
On March 10, 2024, TWICE released the dance practice video for their latest single, "ONE SPARK," from their 13th mini-album, "With YOU-th."
Since the video's release, the nine girls of TWICE have received praise for their synchronized dancing. If there is one thing TWICE always delivers on, it's their performance!
However, one member drew attention due to how different she looks nowadays; and that member is Jeongyeon.
For ONCEs, it is common knowledge that Jeongyeon suffers from anxiety disorder and a slipped disc in her neck. In August 2020, Jeongyeon went on hiatus due to her mental health struggles and returned to TWICE activities in June 2021.
To treat her condition, Jeongyeon takes many medications. Though these help her, she also has to deal with the side effects, such as water retention or hormonal imbalances in her body.
Because of this, Jeongyeon gained a considerable amount of weight. Many have noticed that her visuals have changed drastically, and she no longer looks like she did before her hiatus.
Instead of slamming the idol for not being able to manage her weight, fans expressed pity for the female idol. They stressed that they are still beautiful, but understood the stress and mental toll it must take to deal with water retention or unwanted weight gain.
It was also pointed out that she appears healthier now, as she is actively participating in group activities. Still, ONCEs hope that Jeongyeon is able to lower her dosage over time so she does not have to deal with the stress of weight gain and hate comments from the public.

Some comments read,
- "No matter what, I still think Jeongyeon is beautiful. Even though I am not a big fan of TWICE, I feel sorry for her."
- "I also take medication and have gained over ten kilograms. Unless you reduce the dosage, dealing with water retention because of the medication is tough. Right now, I just hope to retain my weight, and I think that's already good."
- "Jeongyeon is so much healthier now. She actively participates in TWICE activities and sports regularly. No one knows how long she has to take these medications to maintain her health. Regardless, Jeongyeon's body is much stronger than before."
