Min Hee Jin has responded to allegations, claiming she accused groups such as RIIZE, TWS, and more of copying NewJeans.

Min Hee Jin Claps Back Against Rumors Claiming She Accused Groups of Copying NewJeans
On April 26, 2024, Min Hee Jin held an exclusive interview with No Cut News to address more issues between her and HYBE Labels. Among the various topics discussed, the ADOR CEO put to rest the rumors, claiming she accused groups of copying NewJeans.
The interviewer noted that an article came out claiming that, besides BELIFT Lab's ILLIT, Min Hee Jin accused BTS, TWS, and RIIZE of copying her.
Min Hee Jin quickly shut down those rumors, stating she never said such things about BTS, TWS, and RIIZE. Instead, she mentioned that the Y2K style was popularized after NewJeans became household names. However, she did acknowledge that she claimed HYBE Labels and BELIFT Lab copied NewJeans for ILLIT's debut.
Min Hee Jin Reiterates Stance on ILLIT Copying NewJeans
When the interviewer pointed out that NewJeans was inspired by and borrowed from Y2K, Min Hee Jin acknowledged this. However, she pointed out that NewJeans concept is still unique. She claims that NewJeans's concept is the way it is because of how she picked and matched certain aspects of that time to fit NewJeans's identity, which is what makes NewJeans unique and different.
She mentioned that for ILLIT's debut, HYBE and BELIFT Lab had used the same formula she had for NewJeans. While she was aware that, thanks to NewJeans's debut, other people would try to dabble into the Y2K style, she thought that certain parts of ILLIT's concept crossed the line. This led Min Hee Jin to question and submit an internal report requesting statements from BELIFT Lab and HYBE.
With that, she can confidently say that ILLIT's debut was copied from NewJeans's formula. However, she stressed that it is not the fault of the members but of their management. On top of that, she reiterated that she never claimed BTS, TWS, or RIIZE copied her.
