Dave Grohl, Nirvana Drummer, and Pearl Jam Documentaries Headed to VH1; Grohl Is a Nameless Ghoul

Dave Grohl, Nirvana’s drummer and currently the leader of the Foo Fighters, will have a documentary run on VH1’s Rock Doc series. The series will also run Cameron Crow’s documentary on Pearl Jam, “Twenty.”

“Sound City,” which was directed by Dave Grohl, is a documentary on the Los Angeles studio that Nirvana recorded “Nevermind,” their classic 1991 album. Dave Grohl interviewed Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Neil Young, Rick Springfield, Weezer's Rivers Cuomo and Trent Reznor for the documentary. They all recorded at the Sound City Studio before it closed.

Cameron Crowe’s “Pearl Jam Twenty” is a documentary that tells the story of the band Pearl Jam’s early years. The documentary follows the bad as they first got together and how they dealt with their quick rise to stardom. The documentary also explains why the band stepped away from their fame to just be a rock band. James Crow, who directed the film “Almost Famous” went through over 1,200 hours of rare and never-before-seen footage of the band.

“Sound City” will be televised on August 17 on VH1 August 17. “Pearl Jam Twenty” will debut on the music network air on October 12.
Dave Grohl is a ghoul. Dave Grohl was uncovered as one of the musicians who jammed with Swedish Band Ghost's Nameless Ghouls. Dave Grohl couldn’t be recognized because he was dressed in the band’s uniform of cloaks and masks.

Jack Osbourne unmasked Grohl on his interview show on Fuse. The band had hidden their identities and had several big-name rock stars perform with them while hiding behind their stage outfits. The band was finally uncovered on the show.

An unmasked Ghoul revealed that Grohl was one of the masked musicians, saying "As a matter of fact he has. I can't really… but underneath that cloak it was Dave Grohl."

Ghost's Nameless Ghouls are currently on tour in the United States. The band expected to encounter trouble with religious groups, but were slightly disappointed. The Ghoul said "On a few occasions there have been very minor displays of resistance. But I think a lot of Christian societies nowadays know better than to shout: 'This band is dangerous,' because they know that will gather more people to be interested."

The Ghoul denied that the band are real Satanists. He also doesn’t believe that their fans are either. He said "I think they're very willing to pretend they are for an hour and a half, and that's the point. We're an entertainment group and people are welcome to like us or dislike us. Show-wise we're doing something that's supposed to feel like a solid religious mass."
