Eminem New Album 2013: Who Is That Siren Voice on 'Survival'

Eminem’s new album for 2013 is still in production but the lead single, “Survival,” premiered this week as part of a video trailer promoting a new video game “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” Eminem’s new song features a sexy, sultry, siren call of a vocal performed by the songwriter, Liz Rodrigues. Who is Eminem’s singer?

Lisa Rodrigues is a singer with the Canadian band The New Royales and she has appeared on several tracks by hip-hop heavyweights before she linked up with Eminem. On the new Eminem single, “Survival," Lisa Rodrigues sings "This is survival of the fittest/ This is do or die."

Dr. Dre called the New Royales “the new crack.” The band has not yet released their first mix-tape, “Freedom’s for the Brave.” The New Royales backed Eminem on his “Recovery” album in 2010.

Eminem’s “Survival” was written by Lisa Rodrigues along with Erik Alcock, another Canadian singer, as well as Grammy Grammy-winning producer Chin Injeti and DJ Khalil, a veteran hip-hop producer. The New Royales only have one song released on their own, they covered the Jefferson Airplane sing "Today." The New Royales, with Lisa Rodrigues at the mic, have recorded with 50 Cent, Jay Electronica, Slaughterhouse and the Clipse and other hip hop heavyweights. Lisa Rodrigues sang on Bishop Lamont's "Rain," which was produced by Dr. Dre. She also sang with Slaughterhouse on their song "The One." If you want to see what she looks like, you have to watch the “Can’t Stop Me Now” video by Pitbull.
