Pokemon Company Trademark Unveils Tekken-Style Fighting Game? Teaser Trailer Previews Wii U Title 'Pokken Tournament'?

As Pokemon X and Y loom closer to their October 12 release date, some trademark sleuthing has turned up a few new potential titles by the Pokemon Company, which could explain the trailer shown at the Pokemon Game Show.

First discovered by Siliconera, the Pokemon Company recently filed two trademark names: Pokken Tournament and Pokken Fighters.

As pointed out by Pokejungle, the title literally translates to "PokeFist," so it is likely that a Tekken-themed game could be coming up for the Pokemon Company.

Upon learning this news, many sources and fans also believe that the mysterious trailer shown at the Pokemon Game Show is related to these potential titles.

As previously reported, a Pokemon Game Show trailer looked like a retrospective trailer at first glance, but the very last image showed Blaziken and Lucario facing each other in fighting stance.

Not only did the graphics look closer to a Wii U game than the 3DS, but now it seems perhaps it is a subtle hint at what's to come.

Could the Pokemon Company be working on a Pokemon fighting game?

One thing people are noting is that Namco Bandai could be collaborating with the Pokemon Company, if this is indeed a direct take on Tekken.

Based on the trailer and this trademark discovery, do you think a Pokemon fighting is in the works?
