iPhone 5S Release Date 2013: Reports Say New iPhone Model Will Arrive In Japan On Sept. 20

According to Nikkei, one of Japan's  leading newspapers, the new iPhone model will head on the country's shores on September 20, a couple of weeks after the announcement that will be held on the 10th.

The business daily says both Apple's iPhone 5S and its smaller sibling, iPhone 5C will both be offered by Softbank and KDDI.

Aside from the usual tweaks and upgrades in processor and camera performance, the new iPhone is rumored to feature a brand new color casing. For people who are getting tired of their white and black iPhones, a gold casing is expected from the billion-dollar mobile phone manufacturer. But knowing Apple, experts do not expect the color to be too deep that people might mistake it as a gold bar. Instead, BGR says it would be a light champagne gold color.

However, the iPhone 5C will be the one wearing several pastel colors to get the attention of smartphone buyers. And with its plastic cover, it would be slightly cheaper.

Other notable additions to the new iPhone are a fingerprint scanner, a new Siri, a faster processor, and a new camera flash for better shots in low-light conditions.

Citi Research's Kevin Chang also commended Apple designers for its improved design and build quality. The research firm projects iPhone sales to climb from the product's launch until after the Christmas season. While there will be initial confusion between the iPhone 5S and 5C, the market will eventually shift in favor of the more expensive model.
