Fizzy Yoga, A Blend Of Physical Therapy And Yoga, Is The Secret To The Body Of Kim Cattrall, Star Of ‘Sex And The City’

Fizzy yoga, a blend of physical therapy and yoga, is Kim Cattrall's secret to staying fit. The 57-year-old star of "Sex and the City" says fizzy yoga saved her life in a recent The Times of London interview, Us Weekly reports.

"As I get older, I find that cardio is less important to me," Kim Cattrall said, according to Us Weekly. "What I want to do more of is intense stretching. I'm not worried about injuring myself because a regular yoga instructor isn't versed in the way of the body like a trained physio [instructor] is."

New York-based yogi Diana Zotos introduced Cattrall to "fizzy yoga," or physiyoga, and explained the new fitness craze to The New York Daily News.

"When I meet someone for the first time, I do a physical therapy evaluation," Zotos said.

"Then we customize a yoga program around that. It targets deficits, will strengthen muscles that are weak and stretch muscles that are tight, while focusing on the core," she added.

Cattrall admitted that her previous rigorous workout schedule that she had to commit to in order to be camera-ready for those "Sex and the City" sex scenes was difficult to maintain, Us Weekly reports.

"I'd do massive sessions of heavy cardio before each series started and then no exercise at all during filming," she told The Times. "I'd just collapse at the weekends."

"She respects her body," Zotos added about the blond star. "She uses her body in her day-to-day life to perform. What physiyoga has done for her is what it's done for everyone - it's helped her realize how to constantly make adjustments in the way she moves and uses her body, to protect it."

Cattrall, who was born in the UK, is currently in London for a three-month run of Tennessee Williams' play "Sweet Bird of Youth," Us Weekly reports.
