Nokia Windows Tablet 2013: Photos Of Rumored Tablet From Finnish Manufacturer Leak On The Web, Would Still Use Windows OS

In the early 2000s, Nokia built an empire with the 'high-tech' phones it released back then. Now, they are planning to set things straight and take on the competition by developing a new tablet - powered by Windows.

Well, at least they tried.

According to Chinese website Digiwo, there has been some leaked photos of the upcoming device, now insufficiently named Nokia Windows RT. The report said the tablet would come in a plethora of colors, perfect for teens and young-at-heart consumers. However, BGR states it is just a marketing strategy to come close to Apple's new iPhone model which would also have several pastel colors.

Rumors have it that the Windows RT will pack in a fast quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor that will be clocked at 2.1Ghz, a 10.1-inch full HD 1080p display, and 32GB of internal storage. The tablet is also rumored to have several USB ports, a microHDMI port, and Wi-Fi support. However, what boggles tech bloggers and experts is the inclusion of the latest (or upcoming) Windows OS.

Just this year, Microsoft released its own tablet running Windows OS, and the results were at the very least discomforting. Almost a year after it was released, GeekWire estimates that the manufacturer sold 1.7 million units of the Windows Surface tablet. It looks pretty decent at first glance. However, Apple's iPad tablet sold over 3 million units...in just three days.

If Nokia wants to gain momentum at least in the phablet and tablet territories, it would still be a good decision to switch to Android. If not, then they might as well prepare for what Windows has suffered this year.
