Android OS Update 2013: Google Aims To Solve Division In Platform, Offers Stock Android Apps On Play Store

Tons of news reports from tech and news websites reveal how Android leaves iOS in the dust with its whopping market shares. However, only a few know the turbolence hiding beneath Google's camp.

With dozens of manufacturers using Android as the operating system of their respective products, Google have experienced difficulty in maintaining quality and keeping in step with the latest updates. Apple may not share the same market value because it only supports one platform, but it is able to release updates, upgrade features and offer additional bonuses to its subscribers.

Now, it is about time Google does the same.

A couple of months ago, Google released its stock Android keyboard on the Play Store. Now, even Google Calendar, Sound Search and about 50 more Google apps have already been made available for Android phone users to download. But what does this mean?

It just means Google is starting to unite all of the manufacturers and handsets which run its beloved Android platform. Soon, most smartphone manufacturers would not rely on Android updates anymore (which by the way take an eternity to arrive at a particular device). Instead, users would just download stock Android apps from the Play Store.

While Google still needs to use major updates for UI and skin improvements, it would soon be able to address system and software concerns much easier - one way to beat Apple in its own game.
