Avengers 2 Scarlet Witch Going To Elizabeth Olsen? Saorise Ronan Is Out As Joss Whedon Teases Ultron Villain

As the Avengers 2, entitled "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," prepares for filming, Elizabeth Olsen looks to be in contention for the role of Scarlet Witch.

According to Bleeding Cool, Elizabeth Olsen is not the most likely actress to play the mysterious role of Scarlet Witch, after Saorise Ronan reportedly declined the role.

Scarlet Witch will be half of a brother-sister team to join the Avengers 2, with Quicksilver being her male counterpart.

Despite some early controversy regarding Quicksilver being in Avengers 2 as well as "X-Men: Days of Future Past," it looks like both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be in the sequel.

Allegedly, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Kickass") has been in talks to play Quicksilver, although nothing has been confirmed. If Elizabeth Olsen is indeed to play Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2, an official announcement should be made in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Joss Whedon has taken the time to tease the villain of Avengers 2: Ultron. In talking with EW, the director expresses his clear vision of how the villain will be portrayed in the film.

"I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He's always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he's got a bee in his bonnet. He's not a happy guy, which means he's an interesting guy," says Whedon.

"He's got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we'll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who's a witch."
