Porn Star HIV Positive: Cameron Bay Test Results Come Week After Condoms Mandate In Adult Films Becomes Law

Porn star HIV positive: Cameron Bay could possibly end her career, which has caused an industry moratorium on shooting.

Cameron Bay is her porn star name and she went in for her monthly blood-test to test for STD. The 28-year-old tested positive for HIV though there could be a false positive and that no conclusive determination about her status should be made until results are in from confirmatory retests that is already in progress.

"When I got the call, I was obviously extremely distraught and in disbelief because there's no way that it's possible in my eyes," the porn star told AVN.com about her positive HIV test. "I don't sleep around, I don't do anything crazy, and I keep track of the people that I've worked with."

She also noted that she did not test positive for her last test on July 27. Cameron Bay told the website that hasn't done any work since July 31 because of an injury unrelated to the HIV test, though she admitted she is prepared for the worst.

"If it is [positive] I will of course do everything I can to spread awareness and take care of myself and do the things that are necessary or in my power to do. But it is unconfirmed. They're doing more tests, and when I spoke with the doctor, I asked him, 'Is it absolutely, positively HIV?' and he said, 'No, there's a possibility it's not, because there's no such thing as an actual HIV test, they just search for the antibodies that they associate with HIV.'"

The porn star and her agency are in the midst of identifying all other agencies to make sure that the handful of others she had done work with get tested immediately and stop working until they do so. Bay has come forward only so others she had sex with can be notified that way.

The Free Speech Coalition said in a statement Wednesday that it was working with a doctor affiliated with the Adult Production Health & Safety Services to contact and treat any other performers who might have been exposed.

This HIV-positive test comes less than a week after a federal judge rejected the porn industry's claim that a measure mandating condoms in pornography production was unconstitutional. Porn stars have to use condoms when performing sexual activity thanks to the new law.

The porn-industry could be the cleanest industry as far as STD go because of the constant testing that prevents diseases from spreading to the actors and actresses.

"There is no indication of on-set transmission," Diane Duke, CEO of the Free Speech Coalition, said in a statement. The Free Speech Coalition is the adult film industry trade group that runs mandatory STD testing for actors every 14 or 28 days. If they aren't tested, they can't perform.
