Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez breakup: Picture with rising pop-star could have been a plot for the Biebs to get the "Come and Get It" singer jealous.

Fans always want to know if Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are together or did they break up? It's an on-and-off relationship with them reportedly not dating at the moment.

Selena Gomez was warned and somewhat threatened by her parents to stay away from Justin Bieber and break up with him forever.

"They told her Justin was a really bad person. They said she has to rid him from her life, otherwise they can't be part of her life - her new baby sister (Gracie Elliot) included. There were tears from everyone and Selena was devastated," a source told Life & Style magazine.

It might have been a plot to get Gomez jealous, but Bieber and rising star, Ariana Grande took a photo together with the "Baby," singer smooching a kiss on the cheek of Grande.

"I think [fans] had trended #JustinAndArianaSelfie or something like that, so I was like, 'we have to do this,'" Grande told "Live from MTV" Wednesday night.

Bieber and Grande are currently on tour together, as she is an opening act the Bieber-headlined tour.

"Yo, let's take a picture," Justin had told her after he met Ariana's grandparents at a meet-and-greet (her Nonna has a BIG crush). Ariana pulled out her phone and smiled for a quick snap.

Both agreed to take the picture and that's when Bieber snuck in a little extra to the picture.

"I just was smiling and he kissed me on the cheek!" she said. "And I didn't know what to do. I just walked out of the room."

After she left, the body guard of the "Baby" singer approached her.

I got shy," she said. "And then Scooter came after to me and said, Scooter says Justin says you have to post that picture. And I said, 'I will not.' "
