Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Sony Releases Teaser Photos Of New Flagship...Underwater

A few days before the event in Berlin, Germany, Sony released some teaser images of its upcoming Android smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z1 Honami.

Presented with the caption 'About to make a splash', one of the images showed the smartphone appeared to be dipped in water. For the past few months, Sony has prided itself  in manufacturing 'waterproof' and 'dustproof' devices, and the Z1 Honami might just inherit the same features.

The pictures were seen in Sony's official Twitter account with the hashtag #bestofSony, giving away the fact that the phone was built out of Sony's key departments in industry which includes display screens, audio, and photography.

According to Know Your Mobile, rumor has it that the new Sony smartphone will feature full HD resolution at 1920x1080 pixels, and a 5-inch Triluminos panel with Sony's X-Reality Engine which claims to provide richer, but more natural colors.

Like past Sony devices, the Xperia Z1 Honami will run with Android 4.3 Jellybean under the hood for a more fluid UI experience. However, what separates it from other phones to date is the rumored 20-megapixel Exmor RS camera which used Sony's aespheric G-Lens. The impressive snapper also has a BIONZ dedicated imaging chip, as well as Xenon and LED flashes.

According to reports, the Sony Xperia Z1 Honami will hit the shelves in black, white and purple variations.
