MTV VMAs Rumors: Will Katy Perry Perform her New Single `Roar' Under the Brooklyn Bridge for the Finale?

Tonight is the MTV VMAs and the rumors are spreading fast about what will happen. Every year there are surprises galore at the MTV VMAs. One of the biggest rumors right now is that Katy Perry will perform her new single under the Brooklyn Bridge for the MTV VMAs finale.

Katy Perry may perform “Roar” under the Brooklyn Bridge for the closing number of the MTV Video Music Awards tonight. Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and other performers, including a rumored N Sync reunion, will performi inside the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, but Katy Perry will do her thing underneath the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.

Katy Perry and John Mayer are not slated to perform their recently released duet, but an insider told Us Weekly that Katy Perry will perform the first live rendition of the debut single off her upcoming third pop album “Prism,” "Roar" underneath the city landmark after a difference scenario didn’t work out "She was supposed to perform on top of the Brooklyn Bridge but the city wouldn't give her the permit."

Katy Perry's new single "Roar" sold an 557,000 digital downloads in its first week. This was the the sixth-largest opening sales week ever for a digital single. It is the best opening so far in Katy Perry's career. “Roar” outsold Lady Gaga’s lead single from her new album, Artpop, which sold 218,000 downloads this week.
