True Blood season 6 spoilers: Is Eric the Viking vampire dead? I don’t think so, he makes a lot of money and he’s too popular a character. Eric lives in the Sookie True Blood books. But then again, so does Terry Bellefleur. So we can’t really go by that.

Okay, saying that Eric the Viking lives in True Blood season 6 as a spoiler is a misnomer. Eric is dead. Well, undead, but he’s gonna rise again when the series comes back.

When we last saw Eric on True Blood, he was sitting on a white beach somewhere up north getting a full tan. A vampire in the sun. Then Warlow bought it and the vampire-fairy blood no longer gave him that coppertone glow. That’s a nasty burn. That’s no tan, it’s sun stroke of the most serious kind.

Now, True Blood’s main man, Brian Buckner, said that Eric the Viking, who is played by Alexander Skarsgard, is going to survive the eternal tanning salon. My guess is he will be saved by Pam, who flew off after him.

Bruckner said "I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be part of the next season of 'True Blood. He will be a series regular. I'm not going to take Alex Skarsgard out of people's living rooms."

But Eric’s going to have a bad case of sun burn when he’s back on True Blood.

Bruckner said "No, that would be a cheat, wouldn't it? That would be an incredible cheat. Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) has gone off in search of Eric, and maybe she's going to be the one to find him, y'know?"

True Blood series head Buckner also said that the Hep V is going to be the thing that brings the vampires and the humans into harmony. "The virus has mutated. And they're not zombies."
