SIngle Men Bed Sheet Study Findings Are Gross; Boys Change Sheets 4 Times A Year! 32% Wait For 'Several Guests' Before Swapping Linens[FULL REPORT]

A new bed sheet study in single men proves that single men are quite gross in their hygiene.

The average single man washes his sheets just four times per year, Among single men aged 18 to 25, 55% changed their sheets every 3.1 months. In that group 49% thought that was an acceptable frequency, 19% didn't care, and 17% admitted that their disgusting behavior has gotten in the way of romantic relationships.

The bed sheet study was taken by U.K. mattress company Ergoflex.

They said, "Romantic ambitions aside, we were more alarmed by the potential health risks that unhygienic bed sheets could cause, considering in particular two unwelcome night-time companions - dust mites and bed bugs," Ergoflex's Steven Willis wrote in a blog post.

The cleanest demographic were women aged 35 to 50, with 60% changing their linens weekly.

Couples were generally clean as well, changing the sheets every 2.3 weeks, although the men could work a little harder; among the couples surveyed 81% of women said they carry the sheet-changing duties.

The study also found that 32 percent of survey participants did not change guest bed sheets after having guests over, some even confessed to leaving the same sheets on until they'd had 'several guests' to stay in them.

Jed MacEwan, Ergoflex UK spokesperson was quoted saying: 'We were quite alarmed at the apparent lack of basic hygiene from some respondents.'

'Unclean bed sheets contain the tens of thousands of dead skin cells that we shed every night, and by going months without cleaning them you're risking some distinctly unpleasant consequences every time you go to bed.'
