Moto X Release Date: August 29 Launch Date For Verizon, Phone Expected To Have No ‘Developers Edition’ Label

Moto X release date for Verizon will be on August 29, according to sources whom Droid Life has spoken to. Back in early August, the Android-focused blog confirmed that the said date is the original timeline of the U.S. carrier to release the device.

The Moto X that will be released is expected to not have the wording “Developers Edition” at the back of the phones.

Droid Life warns, however, that especially because we’re days away from the original launch date, it can still change. There have been launch dates moved hours before the phones are expected to arrive in stores (like the Galaxy Nexus). At the time of this writing, Verizon has not signaled or announced any change from the release schedule.

Another blog, the International Business Times, have noted that the Moto X is coming to Verizon “before the year’s end.” The Big Red carrier does not have an official release date for Moto X; neither does T-Mobile and Sprint.

The live Moto X design site is available only for AT&T subscribers. The Moto X is the first phone to be considered as a true collaborative effort between Motorola and its parent company, Google, since it was acquired by the tech giant.

Although Moto X is expected to be available in the U.S. very soon, the company does not have plans to release an international version of the smartphone. Google and Motorola said that the first phone assembled (but not made) in the U.S. will only be available in the U.S. and Canada according to the International Business Tines.

Despite not formally releasing plans for an international version of the Moto X, Motorola has put up international websites with a design that is very similar to the U.S. Moto X page. The move suggests that there maybe as similar Moto-style smartphone for Asian and European markets.
