Bring out your inner scientist (if there's one inside you) with this smartphone accessory included in Kickstarter. 

Micro Phone Lens is a small crystal-like glass magnifier that you will clip right above your phone's lens. That's it. 

According to the accessory developer Thomas Larson, having a 'microscope-to'go' will help promote science and technology in the United States. Measuring only 6 millimeters or about 1/4 inch, the phone lens can enlarge objects by up to 15x using the base magnification of the device. 

However, if your smartphone has better camera (the recommended is at least 5MP) and zoom features, magnification may shoot up to 60x - that's almost similar to a real basic microscope. What's good about this device is that it would not affect your phone's camera when you are using it for photography. Just take the lens off and you can wash it with soap and water, in case it accumulates dust. 

Larson's kickstarter project has an initial goal of $5,000 for funding as well as future developments of the device. However, in just a few days, the University of Washington graduate has already earned more than $34,000 in pledges with 14 days left before the deadline. So basically, it's already a sure shot for the device developer. 

According to Larson, he is already working on the prototype of a 150x version of the phone lens, but it needs further development before he can showcase it to the world. 

For people who have donated or will donate, they would get a hold of the device by September or October at most.
