iPhone 5S Release Date 2013: Cheaper iPhone Performs Better Than 5S In Scratch Test, Knife And Coins Used

No one can deny the excitement and thrill that smartphone lovers feel whenever a new iPhone is announced. And with just several days before September 10, a lot of buyers are already preparing their budget to get their hands on one sleek piece of hardware.

However, would they still buy the pricey iPhone 5S if once they see this video?

In a video posted by Jail Break Nation, the iPhone 5S was first tested using a few coins. There were no evident scratches after the experiment, and Apple fans are saved from all the worry.

But when the knife was used...

Apple's upcoming flagship phone immediately shed its metallic paint and unveiled the black aluminum casing.

However, it is interesting to point out that the manufacturer's midrange phone, the iPhone 5C managed to perform better than its pricier sibling in a separate video. It didn't shed any of its colored plastic casing mainly because it is the plastic's color. However, if you feel the surface, you would probably feel the scratches caused by the knife. But still, most people would agree that they would prefer a barely-there scratch, than a color scraped iPhone casing.

The upcoming high-end smartphone will feature several colors which include the traditional white, black, and a new champagne gold variant. A graphite black theme has also been rumored the past week. According to rumors, it will also have a faster A7 processor, and a fingerprint scanner.

Meanwhile, the lower-priced iPhone 5C will get similar features minus the scanner, Siri, and the back casing (that easily gets scratched).
