Human remains have been found on board the Costa Concordia, Italian authorities say.

The Costa Concordia, the cruise ship, ran around back in January 2012. 32 passengers were killed in the tragic accident, and two remain missing.

The accident occurred in 2012, but the wreckage has not been removed from the Tyrrhenian Sea yet. Authorities were finally able to rotate the ship into an upright position last week.

Now, divers have found report human remains were discovered on deck four, which is currently submerged. Authorities are currently attempting to recover the remains for identification.

Costa Concordia captain Francesco Schettino currently faces criminal charges in the incident. He is charged with manslaughter, causing a disaster, and abandoning ship with passengers on board.

Schettino denies the criminal charges. He claims that the reef was missing on nautical charts.

The former captain's  defense team also says that the ship's watertight doors were malfunctioning, and that had they worked, all passengers would have survived.

Allegedly, Captain Schettino purposely sent the Costa Concordia off course so he could salute a retired sea-captain. Yes, really. His old buddy was living on Giglio Island.

The ship struck a reef and filled with water, coming to rest on its side.

Francesco Schettino claims he should be honored for the 4,000 passengers he saved from the Costa Concordia captain...but witness reports allege that he was "on shore looking for dry socks" as the ship struck the reef and sank.

30 people were found dead, and two were presumed dead as their bodies were never found. They are likely the bodies that have been recovered by authorities.
