Queen Fires “Borat” From Freddie Mercury Movie, ‘Harry Potter’ Denies Rumors For The Role

The remaining members of Queen has recently had taken out Sacha Baron Cohen of "Borat" fame from the Freddie Mercury biopic. Meanwhile, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) denies rumors that he is offered the role.

Queen drummer Brian Taylor has announced that they have pulled out Sacha Baron Cohen from the movie because of 'creative differences.' In an interview with MOJO magazine, Taylor states:  "We felt Sacha probably wasn't right in the end. We didn't want it to be a joke. We want people to be moved."

In the summer, a report from Deadline, "the band wanted to make more of a PG movie about Queen while Cohen was counting on a gritty R-rated tell-all centered around the gifted gay singer."

After the announcement, the rumor mill swirled around with other prospects and their sites set on Daniel Radcliffe. This would be an opportunity to shake off the Harry Potter tag, but critics say he's totally wrong for the role.

On an Empire podcast, Radcliffe actually agrees: "Everyone on the internet who I presume is saying I'm totally wrong for that part is correct," he laughed. "I AM completely wrong for that part! There is no truth to it at all,

"This is the kind of thing that happens to me and it happens to Emma (Watson) with multiple 50 Shades Of Grey things. When somebody has column inches to fill, they just sub in one of our names." "It's one of those very, very funny things: it came out of a story in the Daily Star and then you see newspapers like The Guardian using The Star as their source, and it grows and grows [until] it's 'Dan Radcliffe is playing Freddie Mercury!', which I was never going to do."

The search continues for the one who'll play Freddie Mercury. Who do you think?
